The Gower (pub) is in Gwennyth Street, Cathays, Cardiff, CF24 4PH (see map). Live rhythm 'n blues every first Thursday in the month from 9.00 to 11.00 in the upstairs bar. This is an open mic night so you are welcome to bring instruments amd play / sing - there's a drum kit & amps there - also a keyboard (of sorts ..). Café Jazz is at 21 St Mary Street, Cardiff, CF10 1PL (see map). Live rhythm 'n blues every Friday 9.30 to midnight. The band is usually on stage at about 10 pm. As with all live music, things occasionally change at short notice - but even at short notice, the bands are well worth leaving the couch & TV for a night! Normal admission fee for open mic sessions on Thursday nights at the Gower is free. Blues Dragon events at Café Jazz are normally £4 - slightly higher for some touring bands. Student discounts at all events! |
